Created in the image of Universal Horror Movie Monsters. Taking musical influence from everything from The Doors and Alice Cooper to the Sex Pistols and Black Flag- Adding in just a pinch of Sweeny Todd a dash of Elvis (Presley that is) and Viola!!!
OUT CAME THE GRUESOMES!!
The first collection of songs entitled Steal This Tape released Independently in 1984 featured fast-paced Gruesomes classics such as: Lust In The Dust, House Of Pain, and the anthemic R.I.P (Say Never).
Several line-up changes would then ensue giving this Author/Singer a reputation as one of the hardest band leaders to get along with since Ritchie Blackmore.
Now some years later... The smoke has cleared, and we have reformed the original Juggernaut line-up (or closest thing to it) to bring back the POWER, The INTENSITY and the RECKLESS ABANDON... THAT IS THE GRUESOMES.
John Henry -John Henry WAS A MAN; a steel driving man. But, Our John Henry is a steel drivin', power chord pounding, whirling dervish-maniac of the electric six-string guitar. Revered by many to be the hardest working man in Rock Music. John Henry is Back!
Robert North - My original song writing partner from the early days. The Bass Guitar wielding, Scotish-born BAD-ASS- Entrepenuer, Gung Fu Practitioner, Pet Shop Philosopher, Artist,One Man T-shirt Factory and Carpenter- Robert North.
My oldest and dearest Rock-N-Roll comrade- I've been in bands with him for over 20 years and to look over either at a gig or even at practice and see my good ol' mate. All I can say is....... It just feels right. AH! yes, and last but certainly not least, The original Rock-N-Roll Monster-
John Horvath - makes a triumphant return to the drum throne. Horvath has played all over with some of the worlds top talent. A former member of Columbia recording artists The Hounds - J.H. is the musical anchor of the group. A one man show of rhythmic percussive explosions- often mistaken for the love child of Dolph Lungren and Wendy O.Williams, John is the total embodiment of a true Rock-N-Roll professional.
